    OPHA is pleased to be offering the following exciting line-up of webinar sessions as part of our commitment towards building capacity and knowledge transfer and exchange within public health and our partner communities in Ontario.  These sessions are free for our members and at a nominal cost for non-members (it may be a good time to consider membership!)

    Dec 8th, 2011 - Results Based Accountability.  Results-Based Accountability is a disciplined way of thinking and taking action that can be used to improve the quality of life in communities, cities, counties, provinces and countries. It can also be used to improve the performance of programs, agencies and services.  To be presented by Pam Kinzie, Program Coordinator, OPHA and Shelley Lothian, Sr. Research Advisor, Halton Region.  It is still not too late to register.

    Feb 2012 (date to be confirmed)- Evaluation of OPHA's youth engagement project addressing substance misuse.  The Ontario Public Health Association implemented a multi-year youth engagement project with the intention of increasing the application of engagement and resiliency theory, knowledge and skills among public health professionals engaging grades 6, 7 and 8 students (11-14 year olds) on the issue of illicit drug use and risk-taking behaviours. During this presentation, results from the projects’ comprehensive process and outcome evaluation methodologies, including the use of a Knowledge Implementation Framework, will be shared.     Mar. 2012 (date to be confirmed)- The role of public health in land use planning.  Built environment is a key and emerging issue in public health.  This is a knowledge-based webinar that is intended to increase knowledge of participants in understanding the role that public health plays in local land use planning and how to engage with community planners.  In this session, you will also be provided with an overview of a much anticipated collaborative project (currently funded by PHAC and PHO) to develop a land-use planning tool specific to Ontario.  Don't miss this exciting session.  Reigstration link comming soon.
