The Canadian Coalition for Public Health in the 21 Century
The Canadian Coalition for Public Health in the 21 Century (CCPH21) has submitted a letter to the Council of the Federation on the subject of the place of public health in a future FPT health agreement 2011 Summer Meeting of the Council of the Federation. Tools to successfully manage Outbreaks in healthcare settings
During this second annual workshop on outbreak management, to be held September 28-29, 2011, speakers will be presenting to public health unit staff on a variety of topics including; laboratory testing and outbreak management for Clostridium difficile infection, norovirus and respiratory infection outbreak management as well as invasive Group A streptococcus case and outbreak management.
Through a series of presentations and interactive case scenarios this workshop will:
- Provide health units with additional tools to successfully manage CDI outbreaks in healthcare settings
- Inform health units about recent developments with: a) influenza prophylaxis and treatment, b) iGAS epidemiology, c) respiratory infection and gastroenteric
- Outbreak management, d) the role of the Public Health Ontario laboratories during an outbreak or more.
