Towards Evidence-Informed Practice (TEIP)
Towards Evidence-Informed Practice is a project funded through the Ontario Stroke Strategy. The goals of TEIP are to:
- increase use of evidence;
- increase generation of evidence through strong local evaluation;
- align with new Ontario Public Health Standards;
- disseminate learnings.
Over the past year, the TEIP project has made great strides.
TEIP has piloted the Program Evaluation Protocol with the five TEIP communities. The TEIP team is now refining the steps and tools of the generic Program Evaluation Protocol which will be available online early Spring. Also in the works is an Online Learning Module for the Program Evaluation Protocol, coming May 2008.
On January 28, 2008 TEIP held a workshop to introduce the pilot version of the TEIP Program Evidence Protocol for Public Health Practitioners. This protocol is a structured approach to sourcing and applying relevant, credible and quality-assessed evidence to guide programming decisions and is designed to align with the new Ontario Public Health Standards. The Evidence Protocol tools and steps will undergo a vigorous process evaluation prior to broader dissemination.
