February 2010 - Association Update

OPHA Board of Directors

The Board of Directors will meet on February 25 and 26 at the Holiday Inn Yorkdale. The agenda for the meeting will include a focused discussion to inform OPHA’s new strategic plan, an engagement with our 11 OPHA Workgroup Chairs, and an information session with Assistant Deputy Minister for the Public Health Division, Allison Stuart.

Staff Updates

We were sad to learn from Shawna Scale, Manager of the Ontario Chronic Disease Prevention Alliance, that she will not be returning to her post at OPHA after her maternity leave. At the same time, we are pleased that she will still be engaged with the Alliance through her new position as Manager of Health Promotion at the Canadian Cancer Society – Ontario Division. We wish Shawna well in her new position.

Placement Students at OPHA

Michelle Manarina, a former placement student with the Nutrition Resource Centre (NRC), has returned to OPHA to do some year end work for the NRC. Welcome back Michelle!!
