OPHA Board Activities

The OPHA Board of Directors met by teleconference on June 24, 2010 to review the draft audited financial statement as well as the proposed strategic directions. Melanie Borho and Bob McMahon from BDO Dunwoody, presented the draft audited financial statement to the Board. The audited financial statement was approved to be presented to the membership at the Annual General Meeting held on the first day of the OPHA Fall Forum on September 28, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott.

In a follow-up to the April Board and June Executive meetings, the Board considered draft strategic directions for the next three years. Prior to making a final decision about the strategic directions, the Board agreed to have additional discussions prior to and at the September Board meeting about the steps it would take to fulfill the strategic directions.

 

Staff Updates

On June 30, OPHA staff bid farewell to Christine Herrera, Project Coordinator with the Towards Evidence Informed Practice (TEIP) program. OPHA wished her well as she returns to school this Fall as a medical student at the University of Toronto. We know you will do well, Christine!

OPHA also bid farewell to Angella Kalloo, Administrative Assistant to the Heart Health Resource Centre for 16 years. Unfortunately, due to the reorganization of the HHRC as part of the Healthy Communities Consortium, the Administrative Assistant position at OPHA is no longer required. We all wish Angella success as she pursues a new career.
