OPHA Board of Directors

At its February 25th and 26th Board meeting, the OPHA Board of Directors heard from ADM Allison J Stuart. In addition to learning about developments within the Public Health Division, the Board:

  • Engaged in a focus group discussion to inform the April Strategic Planning session;
  • Engaged with the Chairs/Co-Chairs of the 13 OPHA Workgroups;
  • Approved the 2010-2011 OPHA budget;
  • Approved the formation of two new workgroups — see this month's Our Voice in Action article for details.

 

OPHA 2010 Conference: One-day Policy Forum

On February 3rd a group of about 20 interested individuals came together to help design the OPHA 2010 Fall Event at which we will also hold our AGM. As a result of the discussion, this year OPHA is planning a one-day session on partnerships for policy on the built environment using a health equity lens.

Since the February meeting, some investigation has begun and small working groups are being formed to further develop the sessions. An invitation has also been extended to OPHA’s Constituent Societies to see if any of our professional groups would like to hold their event(s) in conjunction with this policy forum.

A more detailed announcement with the date and location will be sent out in early April.
