Advocacy on Food Safety from CIPHI
OPHA is proud to have supported the efforts of the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors (CIPHI) to spur the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care into action on key recommendations articulated in two reports from Toronto Public Health — Food Safety in Toronto, and Foodborne Illnesses in Toronto — as well as proposed amendments to the Ontario Regulation 562 (Food Premises).
The organization has been working on some of these issues since 2001. Concrete progress has been made on some issues but many important improvements to food safety are becoming increasingly urgent. Read OPHA’s support letter to the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
