Competency Based Employee Performance Management

OPHA and its partners, with funding from the Public Health Agency of Canada-Ontario Nunuvut Regional Office, have launched a new e-learning module on the use of public health core competencies in employee performance management.

This web-based e-learning module builds on the Competency Based Performance Management Toolkit developed in 2009 by OPHA and its partners with funding from HealthForceOntario.

The e-learning module presents an overview of competency based performance management, the performance management cycle, performance planning, and the importance of ongoing review and feedback. It also offers resources to support managers and employees to incorporate public health core competencies into their performance planning and review processes. Please check out this unique e-learning opportunity by visiting www.corecompetencies.ca/performance_elearning.

OPHA thanks the following partner organizations and individuals for their generous contribution of in-kind resources:

  • City of Hamilton, Public Health Services – Caroline Ball and Cyndy Johnston
  • Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit – Leslie Orpana, Colleen McBride, and Kimberly Curran
